Artist's Bio
Colleen Schindler-Lynch is an award-winning, practicing artist who explores recurring themes surrounding memory, identity, place, and time and combines the disciplines of drawing, textiles, sculpture, and photography. She has had recent solo exhibitions with the Thames Art Gallery and the Art Gallery of Northumberland. her work is part of the permanent collection of the Thames Art Gallery, and she has recently won a Curator’s Choice award in Fall 2023. Internationally, she was an artist in residence with Atelier AiR and Hammer and Sky and has exhibited in many group shows in Spain, Canada, Japan and the United States. She was featured in Creative Quarterly Journal of Art & Design #41 and selected as one of the 100 Best. Colleen has a Master of Fine Arts from Louisiana State University and is an Associate Professor at Toronto Metropolitan University where she leads in the areas of Illustration, Textile Design and Material Practices.
